Christian Vallar

ChristianVallarChristian Vallar is a researcher, Associate Professor of Public Law, lawyer, director of the Masters in Internal Security and Population Health Law and Regulation, and of the University Diploma in the Prevention of Terrorism and Radicalization, former member of the Faculty of Law and Political Science of Nice Sophia-Antipolis. After a DEUG at the University of Rouen and a doctorate in public law in Nice, he then practiced as a lawyer, and was at the same time a professor at the University of Savoie and then at the University of Nice, where he was Vice President for European Affairs, before becoming Dean of its Faculty of Law and Political Science from 2009 to 2019. He founded the CERDACFF (Centre d'études et de recherche en droit administratif, constitutionnel, financier et fiscal) of which he is the Director and co-head of the National Security Unit, and participated in the foundation of the French Association of Security and Defence Law. He is the Defense referent of the University Côte d'Azur (UCA). His main areas of study are defense and intelligence law, national security issues and Islamist terrorism. He is also a Colonel in the Citizen's Reserve of the Gendarmerie Nationale.
