Sandro Gaycken is
Director of the Institute for a Digital Society at the ESMT (European School of Management and Technology) in Berlin. He has been Special Advisor to Germany's foreign policy strategy on cybersecurity and Internet freedom and is a research fellow at the Martin School at the University of Oxford. At the same time, he is Director of NATO's SPS Programme on National Cyber Defence Strategies and has been an expert witness in international judicial cases related to military cyber security as a strategic issue. He is also an advisor to governments in Europe and the Middle East and to international organizations such as the European Union, NATO and the United Nations.
