The Virtual Roundtable "20 years of UN Security Council resolution 1373 (2001); Past trends, current threats, and future developments in terrorisme and counter-terrorism" took place on Friday, the 7th of May, from 9am to 12am (EDT) via Zoom. 

Co-hosted by the UN Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED) and the Center for Global Affairs (CGA) of New York University, the roundtable marked the 20th commemoration of the 9/11 attacks. Since 2001, the political landscape along the threats and policy response to terrorism have changed profoundly

Professor Alain Bauer participated in the virtual roundtable as an attendee. The discussants exchanged on the various subjects of the agenda: Global Counter-Terrorism Responses and the role of the Counter-Terrorism Committee (CTC), Terrorist Actors and the changing threat landscape, Operational factors: Terrorist Methodologies. This event was the occasion for experts in the field to present the lessons learned from twenty years of experience with counter-terrorism policies, and identifying the trends and opportunities that international authorities will face in the future.
