Héloïse Heuls
In 2022, Héloïse Heuls defended her PHD at the Ecole normale supérieure (ENS) on the use of digital technologies by armed jihadist groups. Throughout her doctoral studies, she honed her skills in open-source research and digital anthropology. Her research thesis, completed in 2017, examined the role of European activists in disseminating the propaganda of the Bashar al-Assad regime. From 2017 to 2024, she worked on these subjects for the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Justice. Her current work focuses on organisations in the Middle and Near East, the Caucasus and Central Asia and their European connections.
