Maurice Cusson

Maurice Cusson is University Professor, criminologist and writer. He was born in Montreal in 1942 and pursued a career at the School of Criminology at the Université de Montréal while working as a researcher at the International Centre for Comparative Criminology. He was the Director of the School of Criminology from 1991 to 1995 and from 2001 to 2003. His books and articles cover most of the major issues surrounding crime, its prevention and repression. However, it focused more specifically on five topics: delinquency in the broad sense, social controls and crime, medium - and long - term trends in crime, police and private security and homicide.
