Robert Cario is Professor Emeritus of Criminology at the University of Pau. He is the former director of the Jean Pinatel Unit of Comparative Criminal Sciences (UJP / CRAJ) at the University of Pau, where he also founded the Master in Criminology. He is Honorary President of the Association Pyrénéenne d'Aide aux Victimes et de Médiation (APAVIM), as well as founder and President of the Scientific Committee of the Institut Français pour la Justice Restaurative (IFJR). Robert Cario holds two doctorates in private law and criminal sciences and remains one of the leading French scientists in the field of restorative justice. He has conducted much research that has always been highly praised, and has written numerous books on juvenile delinquency, victimology and women and crime.
